Richard T. Brewster

Mr. Richard Brewster Age 77 Iron River, MI died Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at the Iron County Community Hospital, Iron River, MI, after a brief illness. Born February 11, 1930 in Whallonsburg, NY The son of the late Francis and Elizabeth (Belmore) Brewster of Lake Placid, NY, attended the Saranac Lake schools, graduating from Saranac High School. After graduation, he joined the US Navy until honorably discharged. He then attended Syracuse University , College of Forestry, receiving his Bachelor's Degree. He retired from work as Superintendent of Superior National Forest. Richard was an avid reader, who loved to share a good book. He enjoyed music (not T.V.), playing cards, and bowling with friends. He was an active Kiwanis Member. He was preceded in death by brothers, Francis, Bernard, Paul, Phillip, and Eugene, and a sister, Marie. He is survived by three sisters, Catherine O'Neil, Doris Bonfante, and Barbara Bonfante, who will miss him dearly. He is also survived by twenty-nine nieces and nephews. The family of Richard Brewster is extremely grateful for the tender care provided by the Staff and Volunteers of the ""No One Shall Die Alone"" Program at the Iron County Community Hospital, the Kiwanis, and the American Cancer Society and suggest memorials to these organizations.
