Richard Lafountain

Richard ""Dick"" J. LaFountain Age 74 Iron River, MIPassed away Friday, September 23, 2011 at Northstar Health System, Iron River. He was born November 17, 1936 in Stambaugh, MI, the son of the late Earl and Mildred LaFountain. He graduated from Iron River High School with the Class of 1956. He then went in to the U.S. Navy for four years. He was employed by Odgers Drilling and then worked at D.A. McPherson until his retirement. Richard was a member of the American Legion Alfred Branchini Post #17 of Iron River. He was active in playing baseball, slow pitch and fast pitch. He enjoyed watching all sports on television and liked going to football games. He especially enjoyed going and watching his grandchildren in their sports. Dick is survived by his wife, Lucille One son, Lee (Chrissy) LaFountain of Iron River Three grandchildren, Mike (Jessica) LaFountain of Bates Kate (Jon) Richter of Bates Andrea LaFountain of Iron River Three great grandchildren, Brad and Eston LaFountain Nolan Pomeroy Three sisters, Carol Lamminen of Iron River Lois (Russell) Kopidlansky of De Pere, WI Kay (James) Wester of Iron River One brother, Jack (Donna) LaFountain of Ishpeming, MI Nieces, nephews and extended family He was also preceded in death by his brother Robert LaFountain, grandson, Joey LaFountain and brother-in-law, Leroy Lamminen Visitation: Friday, September 30, 2011 from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River Memorial Services: Friday, September 30, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River, with Deacon Robert Kostka to officiate Interment: Stambaugh Cemetery, Iron RiverThe West Side Veterans will accord Military Rites at the graveside.
