Richard “Dick” L. Lewis, age 74, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2019 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.  He was born on September 3, 1944 in Wauseon, OH, the son of the late Robert and Dorothy (Kern) Lewis.  He attended and graduated from the Anthony Wayne High School in Whitehouse, OH.  He was honorably discharged from the US Army in 1971.  Dick married Lynette Heller on December 16, 1967 in Grand Rapids, OH.  The couple celebrated their 51st anniversary in 2018. He was employed as a pipefitter for 31 years, retiring in 2005.  He was a member and church elder at the First Presbyterian Church in Iron River and was a member of the Upper Peninsula Plumbers, Pipefitters, and HVAC, UA Local 111.  He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, teacher, mentor, and the most patient man that we have ever known. He had a quiet wisdom about him, and knew just the right time to give advice. His love of nature was unprecedented. He appreciated everything about nature and everything that God gave him. Dick enjoyed feeding all of his many animals and was a gentle spirit.  He had an uncanny way of looking at things that always had a calming affect. Dick is survived by his wife, Lynette; son, Joseph (Lisa) Lewis of Iron River; daughter, Kimberly Lewis of Winchester, WI; sister, Barbara (Richard) Smigelski of Whitehouse, OH; grandchildren, Caiden and Ariah Lewis; his faithful four-legged companion, Brandy; extended family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his grandson, Cameron Lewis and sister, Vicki Finley. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 am on Monday, March 11, 2019 at the First Presbyterian Church in Iron River.  Funeral services will follow at 11am with Pastor Dawn Robbins to officiate.
