Richard Manci

Richard Manci, age 81 of Iron River, MI, died Monday, July 6, 2009 at the Northstar Health System, Iron River. Born: February 18, 1928 in Iron River, MI The son of the late James and Mary (Stefonovich) Manci attended the Kingsford schools. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. Richard married the former Joyce Valenti on June 28, 1952 in Iron Mountain and the couple made their home in Green Bay, WI, where they operated Manci's Supper Club with family members before returning to Iron River in the early 1970's. He was employed in the meter department of UPPCO for many years, retiring in 1987. Richard was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River and a member of the Elks Lodge. He enjoyed hunting and snowmobiling, and especially spending time with his grandson Tyler. He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce and brother Robert Manci. He is survived by his son, Jim (Cathy) Manci of Iron River Daughter, Cyndi (Steve) Moss of Iron River Brother, Michael (Judy) Manci of Green Bay, WI Grandson, Tyler Moss Several nieces and nephews Visitation: Friday, July 10, 2009 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Gathering Room of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Iron River. Funeral Service: Friday, July 10, 2009 at 11 a.m at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Iron River, with Rev. Norman Clisch to offer the Mass of Christian Burial.
