Rita E. Commenator

Rita E. Commenator Age 90 Iron River, MI Passed away Monday, January 28, 2013 at the Iron County Medical Care Facility She was born January 22, 1923 in Henry, IL, the daughter of the late William and Gertrude (Proctor) Rickey. She attended the Henry Schools, graduating from Henry High School with the Class of 1941. Rita married Ralph W. Commenator on September 16, 1943 at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sturgis, MI. The couple celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary in 2011. Ralph preceded her in death on May 13, 2012. In 1979 her husband Ralph started R&R realty and in 1983 he opened Cline 's Gift World in conjunction with the real estate office, with Rita as co-owner and real estate broker. Rita was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River, the St. Agnes Altar Society and the 20th Century Ladies. She enjoyed cooking and sewing and was a great mother. She is survived by her two sons, Rick (Mary) Commenator of Iron River Ralph Commenator of Rhinelander, WI Four daughters, Patricia (Ron) Bilbrey of Essexville, MI Cathy (John) Hartley of Hudson, MI Marni (Duane) Suliin of Iron River, MI Karen Commenator of Palmer, MI Eight grandchildren Four great grandchildren She was also preceded in death by an infant son and her grandson Derek in 2010. Visitation will be held Saturday, February 2, 2013 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church with Rev. Gregory Veneklase to offer the Mass of Christian Burial.
