Robert F. Stupp Jr.

July 20, 1940 — December 23, 2016

Robert “Dock” Stupp, age 76, left this world on December 23, 2016 doing what he loved, fishing. He was born July 20, 1940 to the late Robert and Madge Stupp in Chicago, IL. Robert married Shirley Camino in 1967 and had two daughters, Lorri and Colleen. In 2004, he married Sue Harding. Dock graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1958. As an Evan Scholarship recipient, he attended and graduated from Marquette University in 1964. Robert worked as a sales representative for the Thomas & Betts Co. for many years. He was also a substance abuse counselor for Dickinson-Iron County. His talent with writing outdoor fishing stories is where Dock shined. Up until his passing, he was regularly published in many outdoor magazines, some local and a few national. He was a wonderful writer and his articles were a pleasure to read. He received a People’s Choice award from Midwest Outdoors magazine for the Michigan section. Dock was also a valued member of MOWA (Michigan Outdoor Writers Association). Dock loved water, “soft or hard”, as he would say. He always put his boat away with a tear in his eye. When Dock wasn’t fishing, he could be found cheering on his favorite team, the Green Bay Packers. Robert is survived by his wife, Susy; daughters, Lorri (Mike) Braxton and Colleen (Jon) Langston; step daughters, Kelli Harding-Butler and Dawn (Ryan) Ruzziconi; grandchildren, Canyon, Lexi, Naja, Harley, Torin, Rhys, and Mazie; brother Bill (Aida) Stupp; sisters, Peggy Losik, Rita (Stan) Adamczyk, and Barb (Brian) Coffou; many nieces and nephews; and special friends Ted, Keith, and Ray. Dock was preceded in death by his parents, his mother-in-law, and special nephew, Chris Adamczyk. Fisherman's Prayer- Unknown I pray that I may live to fish Until my dying day. And when it comes to my last cast, I then most humbly pray: When in the Lord's great landing net And peacefully asleep That in His mercy I be judged Big enough to keep. Visitation will be held Friday, December 30, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron River. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Michael Woempner to officiate. Those wishing to make a memorial donation can do so in Dock's name to Susy Stupp, in care of the Jacobs Funeral Home, 405 W. Cayuga Street, Iron River, MI 49935. Susy will then send any donations on to the Iron County Lake and River Alliance. To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of Robert F.
