Robert E. Vezzetti

Robert E. Vezzetti, age 84, of Caspian, MI, passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at the Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls, Michigan.   He was born July 17, 1933 in Caspian, MI, the son of the late Antonio A. and Inez (Lundin) Vezzetti. He attended the Stambaugh Schools, graduating from Stambaugh High School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, and later attended State Police Schooling. He was employed as a State Trooper by the Michigan State Police for 27 years.   He was a member of the American Legion of Sault Ste. Marie, the VFW, and former member of the Elks Lodge. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, golfing, and traveling. He spent his winters in Florida. Robert is survived by his wife, Beth (nee Parker) Vezzetti; daughters, Cheri Hinshaw of Iron River, and her children, Cassidy and Brady Hinshaw; Faye (Donn) Atanasoff of Iron River and her children, Alex, Aubrey and Austin Atanasoff; sister, Anita (Bruno) Marana of Kingsford, MI; extended family and friends.      Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:15 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. Funeral services will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Caspian, with Rev. Gregory Veneklase to offer the Mass of Christian Burial. The Michigan State Police will provide an Honor Guard during the visitation. Interment will be in Stambaugh Cemetery, and the West Side Veterans will accord Military Rites at the graveside.
