Robert K. Watts

March 28, 1937 — December 22, 2022

Robert K Watts left this life and entered eternal life on December 22, 2022, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility. He was born on March 28, 1937, in Iron River, Michigan, to the late Walter and Rica (Possanza) Watts. He graduated from Iron River High School in 1955. On June 14, 1958, he married his high school sweetheart, Delores Giuliani, at St. Cecelia’s Church in Caspian. They celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary this year. Together they grew a beautiful family of four children, nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. They were actively involved in their church and local community. They danced into each other’s hearts almost 70 years ago and continued to dance beautifully together to the end. After high school, Bob trained as a journeyman electrician. His career as electrician included working for the Hanna Mining Company in the local area, Furnace Creek, California and Hibbing, Minnesota. He also worked for Paul Electric and spent the last years of his career with M&J Electric. He was a member of IBEW. His strong work ethic was a model for his children and grandchildren. Throughout his life, Bob served his family and community well. He was an active member of St. Cecelia’s Church, where he was a member of the church council. He served on the boards of the Caspian Community Center and the Caspian Community Cable Company. He volunteered to do electrical work at the Iron County Museum and the Caspian Community Center. He was a lifetime member of the Iron River Elks Lodge, where he served as Exalted ruler. He also served on the Elks state scholarship committee and was integral in establishing a scholarship for students with special needs. Bob was a dedicated servant in all endeavors, but his dedication was to the Lord and his family was always first. Aside from being Dolly’s husband, Bob’s favorite life role was Papa. He was their biggest fan at sporting events, band concerts, plays and dance performances. There was a glean in his eye and a smile on his face whenever he was with them and his precious great grandchildren. Bob is survived by his wife, Dolly; daughters, Terri (Geoff) Stockero, Tammy (Brad) Tomassucci, and Lisa (Tommy) Anderson; son, Robert (Jeanne) Watts; grandchildren, Christopher, Katie (Nate), Nick (Caitie), Bethany (Peter), Jenna (Brandon), Maria (Jimmy), Emi (Ben), Theresa (Joe) and Haley (Colton); great grandchildren, Gabriel, Giuliana, Addison, Eugenie, Clara, Francesca, Graham, and Henry; one brother, Daniel (Joy) Watts; and a sister-in-law, Loraine (Robert) Greenwaldt. He was also preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Raymond (Beverly) Giuliani and David (Fran) Giuliani. A special thank you to the staff of the Medical Care Facility for their loving care. They became members of our extended family and we will be forever grateful for their support and love. Yours was a life well spent. Your footsteps can never be filled, nor your love ever forgotten. Rest in peace, good and faithful servant. A visitation will be held on Friday, December 30, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church with Rev. Jose Cherian to offer the Mass of Christian Burial. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bay Cliff Health Camp, Iron County Youth Camp, Iron County Museum or DICSA Family Ties Adult Daycare Center.
