Roger T. Linna

Roger T. Linna, age 91, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at the Iron River Care Center. He was born on April 15, 1932, in Bruce Crossing, MI, the son of the late Toivo and Mylma (Tulppo) Linna. Roger attended the Iron River Schools, graduating with the class of 1950. He was a veteran of the US Navy. Roger married Sally Brooks on October 25, 1958, at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Iron River. The couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2018. Sally preceded him in death on June 18, 2019. He was employed by the US Postal Service, first as a clerk and then as a rural mail carrier for many years. Roger was a member of The American Legion Reino Post #21, the Iron County Golden K, and a former Iron River Fireman. He was an avid hunter and golfer and a Green Bay Packers and Detroit Tigers fan. Roger is survived by sons, Michael Linna and Patrick Linna, both of Iron River, MI; grandchildren, Nicole Linna and Joey (Carrie) Linna, both of Ludington, MI; great grandchildren, Parker and Avah Linna; brother, James (Debbie) Linna of Mesick, MI; extended family and friends. A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 11, 2023, at noon at Resthaven Cemetery with Deacon Terry Verville to officiate. The West Side Veterans will accord Military Rites at the graveside.
