Roma W. Anderson

Mrs. Roma W. Anderson, age 93 of Iron River, MI, died Sunday, October 25, 2009 at the Iron River Care Center, Iron River. Born: October 10, 1916 in Livingston, WI The daughter of the late Francis and Pearl (Lighthiser) Taylor attended the Livingston schools, graduating in 1934. After graduation, she attended the Beauty Culture School in Madison WI in 1935. Roma married Guerdon L. Anderson on November 14, 1937 in Dubuque, IA. Guerdon was a 1935 graduate of Platteville School of Mines (now known as University of Wisconsin Extension) and served as District Engineer for the Pickands Mather Company from 1948 to 1962. He retired in 1976 and the couple celebrated 62 years of marriage before Guerdon passed away. Roma was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Iron River. She was also preceded in death by two brothers; Vance Taylor and Conrad Orth and a sister, Clarise Gleason. She is survived by her son, Gary F. Anderson of Saudi Arabia Daughters; Barbara M. (James) Wickman of Cleveland, TN Sandra L. (Robert) Battye of Iron River Seven grandchildren; Lisa Wickman (Don) Camacho of Pleasant Prairie, WI James Mitchell (Melanie) Wickman of Cleveland, TN Jan Wickman (Larry) Krystkowiak of Del Mar, CA Richard (Karen) Battye of Auburn, AL David Anderson of London, England Siri Anderson of Sacramento, CA Lindsey Anderson of Chicago, IL Fourteen great grandchildren One great, great grandchild Her dearest friend, June Weeks Her loving pet Frankie (by her side) A private family service will be held.
