Ronald Loury Dobson

Ronald Loury Dobson, age 74, Iron River, MI, died Saturday, June 10, 2007 at Iron County Community Hospital, Iron River. The son of the late George H. and Agnes M. (DeRousha) Dobson attended the Iron River and Lake Orion, MI, schools. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. He married the former Elaine Winkel on April 6, 1963 in Iron River where the couple made their home. He was employed by the Shubat Bus Line, busing miners to the Groveland Mine and later was a welder for Zukowski Iron and Metal until health problems forced retirement in 1975. He was an outdoorsman and he loved to sing. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald Dobson. He is survived by his wife Elaine Two sons, Jeffrey (Debra) Garrett of Bates Township Lawrence (Kathy) Dobson of Beaverton, MI One daughter, Shannon Dobson of Colorado Springs, CO Two brothers, Kenneth (Isabel) Dobson of Ranger, TX George (Priscilla) Dobson of Vancouver, WA One sister, Lowella Youngell of Iron River Four grandchildren and three great grandchildren Five step-grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren Visitation: Thursday June 14, 2007 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River. Funeral Services: Thursday June 14, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Rex Dye to officiate. Interment: Stambaugh Cemetery, Iron River. West Side Veterans to accord military rites.
