Ronald D. Woodworth, age 81, of Iron River, MI, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Northstar Health System, Iron River. He was born March 22, 1934 in Iron River, MI, the son of the late Richard Woodworth and Helen (Kapusta) Beaber. He attended the Iron River Schools, graduating with the Class of 1954. Ronald was employed by Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company in Iron River prior to working at the Cary Mine in Hurley, WI. He was later employed by M.A. Hanna Mining Company for many years, and did some logging on the weekends. In 1971, he began his employment as a truck driver for the Iron County Road Commission, retiring in 1994. Ronald married the former Josephine Giordana on September 6. 1958 at the Guardian Angels Church of Crystal Falls. Josephine preceded him in death on April 8, 2001. He married Mary Turcotte Ciochetto in October, 2007 at St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River. He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River, and enjoyed spending time at the family cabin on Cable Lake, hunting, fishing, making firewood, and playing cards with special friends and visiting family. Ronald is survived by his wife, Mary; sons, Ronald (Julie) Woodworth of Green Bay, WI, and David (Susan) Woodworth of Kingston, MA; daughter, Diana Woodworth of Manitowoc, WI ; step-sons, Jeff (Jennifer) Ciochetto of Iowa, Joel (Jennifer) Ciochetto of Galvaston, TX, and John Ciochetto of North Carolina; step-daughter, Jackie (Joe) Esbrook of Marquette, MI; half-brother, Allen Beaber of Coleman, WI; half-sister, Claudia Beaber of Green Bay, WI; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; five step great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his step-son, James Ciochetto, and step-daughter, Jeanne Leeman. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 2, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, with Rev. Gregory Veneklase to offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in Bates Township Cemetery.
