Rudolph A. Passamani

Rudolph ""Rudy"" A. Passamani, age 87, (Bates Township) Iron River, MI died Friday, May 30. 2008 at the Iron County Community Hospital, Iron River. Born December 20, 1920 in Bates Township The son of the late Andrew V. and Sophie (Mottes) Passamani attended the Bates and Iron River schools, graduating from Iron River High School. He married the former Virginia Mary Johnson on December 15, 1942 in Iron River and the couple were life long residents of the area. The couple celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in 2007. He was employed as a miner by the MA Hanna Mining Company at the Waseca Mine and then as a well driller by Layne Northwest. After retirement, the couple traveled during the winter to visit their children. He was a member of the NRA and the Operating Engineers Union. Rudy's first love was his grandchildren. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and reader, and enjoyed gardening. He was preceded in death by nine brothers; Andrew, Robert, Louis, Peter, Alex, Larry, Ernest, young Peter, and Joseph, and five sisters; Mary, Anna, Vera, Emma, and Cecelia He is survived by his wife, Virginia Four sons; Eugene (Patricia) Passamani of Washington D.C. Bruce Passamani of Monterey, CA John (Mary) Passamani, of Prescott, AZ Peter (Arlene) Passamani of Grosse Pointe, MI Three daughters; Catherine (Ron) Goovert of Grand Blanc, MI Gina (Darren) Walter of San Rafael, CA Virginia (Greg) Donati of Iron River Thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren Numerous nieces and nephews Visitation: Monday, June 2, 2008 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River. Funeral Services: Monday, June 2, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River, with Rev. Norman Clisch to officiate.
