Ruth I. Christofferson

Ruth I. Christofferson, age 100, of Iron River, MI, passed away peacefully on Saturday June 26, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility. She was born on April 26, 1921 in Stambaugh, MI, the daughter of the late Samuel and Linnea (Jokippi) Seilo. She attended the Stambaugh Schools, graduating with the Class of 1939. Ruth married Melford Christofferson on September 13, 1941, in Iron River, MI. Melford preceded her in death on March 2, 2013. She enjoyed quilting, walking, and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Iron River. Ruth is survived by her son, Donald (Paraskevi) Christofferson of Iron River, MI; daughters, Darlene (Arthur) Felber of Hartford, WI, Nancy Waldron of Iron River, MI, and Julie Ann (William) Groves of Rialto, CA; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by brothers, Wayne, Reino, and Donald Seilo and sisters, Aileen Seilo and Helen Suomi; and son-in-law, Jerome Waldron. Private services will be held and interment will be in Stambaugh Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Trinity Lutheran Church.
