Ruth V. Kruit

Ruth V. Kruit, age 88, of Iron River, MI, passed away Monday, April 24, 2017 at the Aspirus Iron River Hospital. She was born October 29, 1928 in Wausau, WI, the daughter of the late Hugo and Bertha (Radtke) Froehlich. Ruth married Edward Kruit on April 17, 1948 and the couple celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary this year. She was a very active member of the First Baptist Church and participated in the women’s bible study. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, crocheting, sewing, needlework and baking. She loved being around people, especially spending time with her family. Ruth is survived by her husband, Edward; sons, Edward J. (Elizabeth) Kruit of Arlington Heights, IL and Paul (Lori) Kruit of St. Charles, IL; daughters, Sandra (David) Williamson of Hagerston, MD, Sharon (Cliff) Hoffman of Northfield, IL, Joy (Jeff) Bandoch of Taylors, SC, Sarah (Bruce) Marusich of Mt. Airy, MD and Connie (Henry) Reimer of Minnetonka, MN; brothers, Clifford, Henry, Steven and Leslie Froehlich; sister, Lucy Froehlich; 19 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Clarence and Walter; and sisters, Ada Hoerter, Erna Anderson, Fredia Wetzel and Betty Poppedorf. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 30, 2017 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Iron River. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor John Fish to officiate.
