Sally A. Blyze, age 86, of Iron River, MI passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at her home. She was born on June 21, 1933 in Iron River, MI, the daughter of the late Guy Edward and Ollive (Hamaker) Marquette. She attended the Iron River Schools, graduating with the Class of 1951. Sally married James D. Blyze on March 4, 1955 in Milwaukee, WI. The couple made their home in Milwaukee, WI. They celebrated their 37th anniversary in 1992. James preceded her in death on December 16, 1993. She was employed as secretary for Baroid Oil Well Services. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Iron River, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Rum Rebellion cast. She played special music for children, and played for open mic night at Windsor Auditorium. She enjoyed playing cards, traveling, gardening, bird watching and playing piano at various local functions Sally is survived by her sons, Steve (Lisa) Blyze of Kansas City, Kansas and Scott (Kathy) Blyze of Indianapolis, IN; daughter, Karen Paddock of Jackson, MO; grandchildren, Emily Blyze, Callie (Matt) Strother, and David (Lara) Paddock; great grandchildren, Henry Paddock and Everett Strother; sisters, Nell Paiter of Ionia, MI and Marjorie Oelsner of Clinton Township, MI; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, Charles Paddock and Tammy Weng. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Wallace Marquette and sisters, Alice Milanoski and Jane Holmes, and dearest friend, Charlie Frobloom. Visitation will be held Wed. November 6, 2019 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, Iron River, MI. The American Legion Reino Post #21 Ladies Auxiliary will form a Poppy Honor Guard at the visitation. Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dawn Robbins to officiate.
