Sandra J. Olexa

Sandra J. Olexa, age 63, of Iron River, MI, passed away Monday, March 13, 2017 at her home. She was born September 14, 1953 in Posen, MI, the daughter of the late Louis and Anastasia (Budnik) Pieczynski. She attended and graduated from the Alpena High School. She was employed as a waitress at the Riverside Pizzeria for over 23 years. Sandra married Curtis Olexa on July 29, 2000, in Iron River, Michigan. The couple celebrated their 16th wedding anniversary last year. She enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino and caring for her flowers. A kind and compassionate person, she also enjoyed taking care of others. Sandra was very fond of her cat “Queenie”. Sandra is survived by her husband, Curtis; sons, Brian Swanson of Iron River, MI, Charles Swanson of Grand Junction, CO; step-son, Curtis Olexa, Jr. of Minot, ND; brother Larry Pieczynski of Alpena, MI; sister, Diane Stema of Utica, MI; grandchildren, Keischa, Nacole, Natalie, Sierra, Trevor and Alexandria; great grandchildren, Asher and Sebastian; special nieces, Debbie, Patty and Jennifer and special nephew, Stanley.
