Scott D. Sprague

Scott D. Sprague, age 52, of Iron River, MI, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 21, 2023. He was born on June 21, 1971, in Keene, NH, the son of Wilbur and Beverly (Judd) Sprague Jr. He attended Monadnock Regional High School in New Hampshire. Scott married Darla Barnhart on July 29, 2000, at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Iron River. They celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary last year. He was a self-employed mechanic and enjoyed working on motors. Scott was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed fishing, paintball, hunting, and spending time with his grandchildren. He also liked to help at church and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Scott is survived by wife, Darla; son, Michael Fifield of Iron River, MI; daughter Jennifer Winkler, of Iron River, MI; mother, Beverly (Tim) Modert of Iron River, MI; father, Wilbur (Judy) Sprague of Sullivan, NH; brothers, Chad (Samantha Wills) Sprague of Bronson, MI, Levi, Ian, and Hunter Modert of Iron River, and Brandon Modert of Sturgis, MI; sisters, Cherie (Scott Kellogg of Westfield, VT, Angela O’Brien of Gilsum, NH, and Felicia Modert of Colon, MI; grandchildren, Tatum Fifield, Zoe Schindler, Able Rabik, Chaylee Franklin, and Jesse Franklin Jr; mother-in-law, Jennie Lambert of Iron Mountain, MI; brothers-in-law, Frederick (Shannon) Lambert of Iron River, MI, David Lambert of Florida, Jeff (Nikki) Lambert of Iron Mountain, MI, and Laura (Sean) Cooley of Florida; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2023, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Tim Hall to officiate.
