Sharon L. Johnson

Sharon “Shari” L. Johnson, age 79, of Beechwood, MI, passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls, Michigan. She was born on December 17, 1938 in Iron River, MI; the daughter of the late Clarence and Doris (Lee) Olson. She attended and graduated from the Iron River High School, with the Class of 1957. Sharon married Ralph Johnson on August 24, 1957. They celebrated 60 wonderful years together last summer. She was a very active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church; participating in the St. Paul’s Ladies Aide, Sunday School, and “KLAC” – Kids Learning About Christ. She was also a member of the Beechwood Historical Society. She especially loved spending quality time with her family and grandkids. She enjoyed researching her Swedish relatives and heritage, crocheting, and delighted in being with her dog, Luci. Sharon is survived by her husband, Ralph; sons, Michael (Theresa) Johnson of Iron River, MI, Mark (Tammy Uren) Johnson of Iron River, MI and Neil Johnson of Madison, WI; daughters, Linda (Ed) Panyard of Luna Pier, MI and Shelley (Paul) Tomlinson of Iron River, MI; brother, Loren (Nancy) Olson of Iron River, MI; sister-in-law, Sheila Olson of Iron River, MI; 16 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Olson, an infant sister, Judith Olson, and a grandson, Michael Johnson, Jr. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 27, 2018 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Iron River. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Larry Steckling to officiate. Interment will be in Rosehill Cemetery, at a later date.
