Sheri L. Ponozzo

Sheri L. Ponozzo, age 50, of Iron River, MI, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Northstar Health System, Iron River. She was born May 23, 1964 in Marquette, MI, the daughter of William and Judy (Borns) Olson. She attended the West Iron County Schools, graduating with the Class of 1982. She then attended Northern Michigan University, Marquette, MI. She was a receptionist at Northstar Health System for over 20 years. Sheri married Randy J. Ponozzo on September 29, 1990 at the First Presbyterian Church of Iron River and the couple were lifelong residents of the area. They celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary in 2012. Randy preceded her in death on June 28, 2013. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Iron River. She loved her dogs, Rusty and Patches, the cabin on Tamarack Lake, spending time with her family, and entertaining family and friends at her home. She also enjoyed her daily interactions at work. Sheri is survived by her parents, William and Judy Olson of Iron River, and brother, Eric (Sara) Olson of Cedar Springs, MI. Also surviving are her in-laws, Harvey and Elna Ponozzo and extended family. Visitation will be held Saturday, August 30, 2014 from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Iron River. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Dawn Treado Green to officiate. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery.
