Shirley Sustek

Shirley Sustek, age 88, of Watersmeet, MI, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2024, at the Iron River Care Center in Iron River, MI. Shirley was born on August 24, 1935, in Blackduck, MN, the daughter of Edgar and Susan (Elasky) Albrecht. She married Emil Sustek on June 29, 1957. The couple celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary in 2023. She was a wonderful cook and baker and enjoyed fishing, gardening, and tending to her flowers. Shirley was also an animal lover. She was a wonderful aunt. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, William Albrecht and Edgar “Butch” Albrecht Jr. and sisters, Virginia Nykiel, Lou Klements, Jackie Duffy, and Emma Seery. Shirley is survived by her husband, Emil; brother, Eugene (Bernice) Albrecht of Necedah, WI; sister, Sharon (Richard) Norris of Illinois; many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
