Silvio A. Amelio

Silvio A. Amelio, age 78 of Gaastra, MI, died Thursday, February 5, 2009 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, WI. Born: November 7, 1930 in Gaastra, MI The son of the late Anton and Rose (Galleli) Amelio attended Stambaugh High School and graduated. He was a lifelong resident of the area. He was employed as a lab tech at the Groverland Mine retiring in 1978. After retiring he worked at George Young Golf Course. Silvio was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Caspian. He was also a lifelong Elks Member. He was preceded in death by his daughter Susan Porras and brother Carmen Amelio He is survived by two grandchildren; Sara Porras and Daniel Porras Visitation: Tuesday, February 10, 2009 from 9:00 to 10:40 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River. Funeral: Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at 11 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Caspian with Rev. Norman Clisch, pastor to offer the Mass of Christian Burial.
