Sophie A. Kinney

Sophie A. Kinney, age 88 of Caspian, MI, died Saturday, November 14, 2009 at the Iron County Medical Care Facility, Crystal Falls, MI. Born: December 19, 1920 in Gaastra, MI The daughter of the late Caspar and Julie (Novak) Waligursky was a lifelong resident. She attended the Palatka grade school and graduated from Stambaugh High school. She married John Kinney January 13, 1940 in Gaastra, MI and the couple made their home in Pentoga moving to Caspian in 1990. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. John preceded her in death in 2005. Sophie was employed by the Iron County Medical Care Facility working as a nurse aide for over 30 years. She was an avid hunter, fisherman and enjoyed gardening. She was also preceded in death by a daughter Julie in 1949, brothers; John, Caspar, William and George. She was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Caspian and St. Anne's Society.
