Sophy M. Myers

Sophy M. Myers, age 94, Iron River, MI died Saturday, January 26, 2008 at the Iron County Medical Care Facility, Crystal Falls, MI. Born December 19, 1913 in Buffalo, NY. The daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (Stasaski) Bociek moved to Iron River as a young girl with her parents, settling in the Chicagoan Mine area and later making their home in the Hiawatha Location. She married John A. Myers and the couple made their home in Iron River. He preceded her in death in 1981. Sophy's life centered around her family and grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her brother Joseph Bociek. She is survived by her son, John (Karen) Myers of San Marcos, TX Sister-in-law, Lorraine Bociek of Iron River Two grandchildren, Kim and Kris Eight great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild Interment and graveside services will be held in the spring at Resthaven Cemetery with the date to be announced.
