Stanley J. Brzoznowski, Sr.

July 6, 1944 — February 4, 2022

Stanley J. Brzoznowski Sr., age 77, of Caspian, MI, passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022, at UP Health System Marquette, MI. He was born on July 6, 1944, in Stambaugh, MI, the son of the late Joseph and Evangeline (Sharrard) Brzoznowski. Stanley attended the Iron River Schools, graduating from Iron River High School, with the Class of 1962. He was a decorated veteran, receiving the Bronze Star Medal and the Purple Heart while serving two tours of duty in Vietnam. Stanley was a devout Christian. He was a member of the U.P. River Church of Iron River and a Minister of the Gospel for over 30 years and participated in jail ministry. Stanley ran the Open Door and founded the Home of Hope and Healing, which was a Christian halfway house for men. He was also active at the Mission Bible Training Center. He loved driving and taking rides, riding his bike, and running. He also enjoyed singing and spending time in the woods. Stanley is survived by his sons, Brian (Amy) Brzoznowski of Iron River, and Stanley Joseph (Missy) Brzoznowski, Jr. of Steven’s Point, WI; daughters, Michelle (Oscar) Reyes of Justin, TX, and Tammi Lynn Brzoznowski of Davie, FL; sister, Evana Lynn (Pastor H. Dick Jr.) Reynolds of Iron River, MI; as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Robin Lee Brzoznowski. A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 16, 2022, at 2:30 p.m. at Resthaven Cemetery with Pastor James Pellizzer to officiate. The West Side Veterans to accord Military Rites.
