Steven Rindfuss

Steven W. Rindfuss, 78, of Gaastra, MI, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2026.

He was born on February 24, 1948, in Wayne, MI, the son of the late Chester and Silvia (Snedeker) Rindfuss. Steven attended the Cass Tech High School in Wayne and graduated. He then earned an associate degree from Wayne State University.

Steven married Dorothy Wood on June 30, 1981, in Belleville, MI. They celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary in 2008. Dorothy preceded him in death on December 23, 2008.

He was employed in management for Howmet/Quality Container. Steven was a member of Cornerstone Bible Church in Iron River. He loved nature and enjoyed photography and staying updated with computer technology.

Steven is survived by his stepsons, Steven Newhouse of Gaastra, MI and James Johnson of Romulus, MI; stepdaughter, Pamila (Rocky) Farley of Gaastra, MI; brothers, Chester Rindfuss of Florida, Robert (Melody) Rindfuss of Illinois, and Scott (Sandy) Rindfuss of Iron River, MI; grandchildren, Jerry (Julie) and Jennifer (Joseph); great-grandchildren, Shane (Shelby), Matthew, Kailyn (Levi), Abby, Rocky, and Lucy; great-great-grandchildren, Colby, Cayson, Amara, and Maylee; nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

He was also preceded in death by stepson, James Newhouse and daughter-in-law, Annette Newhouse.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Rocky Farley to officiate.

Interment will be in Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton, MI.
