Susan L. Lojda, 75, of Gaastra, MI, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
She was born on January 28, 1951, in Stambaugh, MI, the daughter of the late Arthur and Eleanor (Bialik) Campbell. She attended the Stambaugh Schools.
Susan married the love of her life Rodney Vassar on December 2, 1967, in Gaastra. They celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary in 2000. Rodney preceded her in death on June 25, 2001. Susan then married Douglas Lojda on January 27, 2003, in Hawaii.
She was employed as a Floor Supervisor at the Lac Vieux Desert Casino for 24 years and was also a waitress at area restaurants for many years. Susan was a member of the First Baptist Church in Iron River. She enjoyed the family’s yearly trip camping at the Porcupine Mountains, playing cards, coloring, listening to music, and spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her big smile and her ability to light up any room she entered.
Susan is survived by her husband, Doug; daughters, Crystal (Steve) Mazurek of Iron River, MI, Rachael Zarate-Sanchez of Green Bay, WI, and Rebecca (Matt) Jacks of Caspian, MI; bonus daughter, Rhonda (Tony) Remer of Iron River, MI; sister, PeggyAnn (Delnore) Poss of Madison, WI; sisters-in-law, Penny (Dale) Petts of Arizona and Sharon Campbell of Iron River, MI; grandchildren, Stephen (Kelly) Mazurek, Sydnie (Isaac) Wedig, Livea (Benjamin) Anderson, Marissa (Dennis) Powell, and Alexis (Hunter Davis) Jacks; great-grandchildren, Noelle, Madison, Morgan, Everley, Brayley, Cooper, and Eleanor; special lifelong friends, Linda Johnson and Sharon Nordstrom, both of Iron River; extended family and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Leslie Campbell.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Caspian-Gaastra Fire Hall in Caspian, MI.
