Therese E. Peterson

Therese E. Peterson, age 67 of Iron River, MI, died Friday, January 16, 2009 at the Iron County Community Hospital, Iron River. She was born October 24, 1941 in Iron River, MI to William John and Celia (Brozak) Dobrzenski, the second of eight children. She was baptized at Saint Agnes Church in Iron River and remained a member throughout her life. She attended schools in Iron River graduating from the eighth grade of Saint Agnes School in 1956 and from Iron River High School in 1960. Therese married Ronald Peterson on October 26, 1963 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Iron River, and the couple were lifelong residents of the area. They celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary in 2008. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River and the St. Agnes Altar Society. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and attending their sporting events for basketball and tee ball. She also enjoyed going out to camp. She was preceded in death by her parents, three infants brothers, Billy, Tommy and Thomas, and sister Mary Kay Niemisto. She is survived by her husband Ronald Son, John Peterson of Caspian, MI Two daughters; Shelley Peterson of Iron River, MI Lorie (Blaine) Strom of Gaastra, MI Two brothers; Reverend Francis Dobrzenski of Lake Linden, MI Mark (Robin) Dobrzenski of Sparks, MD One sister, Ancele Dobrzenski of Bisbee, AZ Three grandchildren; Nicole, Gina and Megan Numerous nieces and nephews Visitation: Tuesday, January 20, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River. The visitation will conclude with the vigil service at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Service: Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Iron River with Rev.
