Thomas R. King, 70, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Aspirus Rhinelander Hospital. He was born on May 6, 1955, in Ironwood, MI, the son of the late Kenton and Rosalie (Grandelis) King. Tom attended the West Iron County Schools and graduated and received an associate degree from Gogebic Community College. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and Michigan Army National Guard. Tom married Debra Bloom in 1996 in Iron River. They celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary this year. He was employed as the animal control officer for Iron County. Tom was a member of the National Guard Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. Tom is survived by his wife, Debra; sons, John King of Idaho and Steven King of Iron River, MI; daughters, Lisa King of Idaho and Nicholle Funari of Iron Mountain, MI; sisters, Patti (Curtis) Soderbloom of Iron River, MI and Rebecca King of Okemos, MI; granddaughter, Kaitalynn Yoki of Iron Mountain, MI; nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. He was also preceded in death by his brother, David King. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 9, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. The West Side Veterans will accord Military Rites at 11 am at the funeral home.
