Tomie Lewis

Tomie Lewis, age 88, of Kent, WA, formerly of Iron River, MI, passed away at her home on Tuesday, June 11, 2019. She was born on November 10, 1930 in the Nakagami District of Okinawa, Japan.  She was the daughter of the late Yufuku and Nabe (Misato) Uezu. Tomie married Gilbert L. Lewis on December 17, 1958, and the couple enjoyed 56 years together, before Gilbert preceded her in death on December 11, 2014. She was employed as a cleaning lady for several years at the Ice Lake Clinic when it first opened.  She was a member of First Lutheran Church of Iron River.  She enjoyed gardening, jigsaw puzzles, cooking, playing cards, traveling, being with people and family, and loved animals. Tomie is survived by her son Gilbert (Teri) Lewis, Jr. of Kent, WA; grandsons, Jared (Rosa) Lewis of Rexburg, ID and Daniel (Shayla) Lewis of Provo UT; granddaughters, Samantha Lewis of Rexburg, ID and Selina Lewis of Kent, WA; great grandsons, David and Liam Lewis. She was preceded in death by her sister, Hideko Uezu and brother, Yuko Uezu Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River.  A graveside service will follow at 11am at Resthaven Cemetery with Pastor Avery Carr to officiate.
