Valerie Ann Colberg

Valerie Ann (Today) Colberg, age 75 of Iron River, MI died Monday, August 11, 2008 at the Iron River Care Center, Iron River. Born May 4, 1933 in Stambaugh, MI The daughter of the late Emil and Marion (Zyskowski) Today attended the Iron River schools, graduating with the Class of 1951. She then attended St. Mary's School of Nursing in Rochester, MN and graduated. She returned to the Iron River area and started employment as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Stambaugh Hospital in 1953 and later worked at the Iron River Clinic for the area doctors, and from 1978 until her retirement in 1998 worked for Dr. Han at his office. Valerie was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Caspian. She enjoyed knitting, reading, and cooking. She was also preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Linda Todey. She is survived by her brother, James (Alyce) Todey, Green Bay, WI Niece, Catherine (Bill) Schuch Nephews; Steve and Patrick Todey Michael (Tammy) Todey Great Nieces and Nephew Special Friend, Everett ""Dutch"" Hogan, Iron River. Visitation: Thursday, August 14, 2008 from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River. Funeral Services: Thursday, August 14, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Caspian with the Rev. Norman Clisch, pastor to offer the Mass of Christian Burial.
