Victoria R. Johnson, age 82, of Caspian, MI, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at the Iron River Care Center. Victoria was born April 17, 1933 in Stambaugh, MI, the daughter of the late Enricho and Maddalena (Colussi) D’Agostini. She attended the Stambaugh Schools, graduating from Stambaugh High School with the Class of 1951. She was employed as Ward Clerk at Iron County General Hospital for 15 years, and prior to that, worked at the Iron River Coleman Plant. Victoria married C. Walter Johnson on September 26, 1953, and the couple were lifelong residents of the area. Walter preceded her in death on May 13, 1987. Victoria was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Caspian, St. Ann’s Society, and VFW Ottawa Post #3134 Auxiliary. She served as organizer for class reunions, and enjoyed her flower garden, especially the peonies and snapdragons, cooking, having friends over for coffee, and spending time with her grandchildren. Victoria is survived by her son, Mark (Amy) Johnson of Iron River; daughter Roberta (Joe) Today of Britt, MN; sisters, Gloria Robinson of Lake Zurich, IL, and Mary Jean D’Agostini of Paradise, MI; sister-in-law, Marlene D’Agostini of Brookfield, WI; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Geno and Bruno D’Agostini. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 9, 2016 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Caspian with Rev. Gregory Veneklase, Pastor, to offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in Stambaugh Cemetery in the spring. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association.
