Violet Marie Mileski

Violet Marie Mileski age 84 Kingsford, MI formerly of Iron River, died Sunday April 4, 2010 at the Freeman Nursing and Rehabilitation Community, Kingsford, MI Born: March 21, 1926, Oconto, WI She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Wroblewski) Olson and attended the St. Joseph Catholic grade school graduating in 1945 from the Oconto High School. She married Floren Mileski Sept. 2, 1950 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Oconto, WI. and the couple resided in Iron River. In April 1970 the couple purchased the Friendly Store which they owned and operated until November 1982. In 1986 she moved to the Iron Mountain area to be near her children. She was an active member of the former St. Mary's Assumption Catholic Church and Ladies of Mary; St. Agnes Church, St. Agnes Altar Society, Daughters of Isabella, Rosary Sodality, American Legion Auxiliary and St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church of Iron Mountain. Vi enjoyed playing bingo, watching Packer games and Wheel of Fortune, and she especially enjoyed being with family and friends! Besides her parents and husband of 45 years, she was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary on August 7, 1951, three sisters, Gladys, Laura Jane and Mary Ellen and two brothers, Allen and Joseph. Survived by four children, Floren ( Kaye ) Mileski of Iron Mountain, MI Janet (Sid) Dye of Iron Mountain, MI JoAnn ( Greg ) McQuiggin of Sault Ste. Marie, MI Mark (Debbie) Mileski of Norway, MI Two brothers, Claude Olson of Lakewood, CO William ( Lois) Olson of Pewaukee, WI One sister, Alice (Glen) Martin of Ramona, CA Ten grandchildren; Floren (Liz) and Travis Mileski, Nicholas, Laura Jane (Eric) Gunderson, and Mary Dye:, Katherine (Scott) O'Brien, Linda, and Michael (Samantha) McQuiggin, Sara (Brandon) Baldwin and Mark Mileski. Six great grandchildren; Benjamin and McKenna Mileski, Taylor, Alex, and Austin O'Brien, and Kaylee Baldwin. Nieces, nephews and extended family. Visitation: Wednesday April 7, 2010 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River. A liturgical prayer service will be conducted 7:30 p.m. Funeral Service: Thursday April 8, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Iron River, MI. with the Rev. Norman Clisch, pastor to offer the Mass of Christian Burial. The Ladies of the Rosary Sodality will form an honor guard at the funeral service. Pallbearers: Floren Mileski, Travis Mileski, Nicholas Dye, Eric Gunderson, Michael McQuiggin, Scott O'Brien, Mark Mileski and Brandon Baldwin. Interment: Resthaven Cemetery, Iron River, MI.
