Violet Holm Waier

Violet V. Holm Waier Age 89 Wakefield, MI (formerly of Iron River, MI) Passed away Saturday, November 24, 2012 at her home. She was born March 13, 1923 in Gibbs City, MI, the daughter of the late Martin and Julia (Spicer) Borske. She attended the Elvoy school in Alvin, WI. Violet married Clifford Holm on August 13, 1949 and the couple made their home in Iron River. Clifford preceded her in death on April 24, 1987. She married Stanley Waier on May 15, 1992 and he preceded her in death on May 15, 2006. Violet was a member of the First Baptist Church of Iron River, the VFW Auxiliary, and the American Legion Reino Post Auxiliary. She enjoyed picking berries, canning, and was an avid baseball and football fan. She especially loved camping and spending time with family and friends. She is survived by two sons, Donald (Tammy) Holm of Wakefield, MI Richard ""Bucky"" (Jeannie) Holm of Gaastra, MI One daughter, Connie (Delroy) Dziuk of Iron River Two brothers, Andrew (Margaret) Borske of Iowa Everett (Pat) Borske of Lake City, MI Two sisters; Anna Day of Alvin, WI Ida (Cliff) Wold of Minneapolis, MN 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren Numerous nieces, nephews and extended family She was also preceded in death by two brothers; Arnold and Darrell Borske, and two sisters, Alice Sunn and Elta Darrell. Visitation will be on Friday, November 30, 2012 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Iron River. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 30, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Iron River, with Pastor John Fish to officiate. nterment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Alvin, WI in the spring.
