Virginia A. Heikkila

Virginia “Ginny” A. Heikkila, age 69, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2020 Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born on December 5, 1950 in Phelps, WI, the daughter of the late Herbert and Ivory (Fraley) Kernohan.  She attended the Phelps Schools and graduated with the Class of 1969. Virginia married Thomas Heikkila on April 10, 2000 in Las Vegas, NV. She was employed as a store clerk.  She enjoyed traveling, tending to her flower garden, and spending time with family and friends.  Virginia is survived by her husband, Tom; sons, Murl Spence III and Travis Spence, both of Iron River, MI; granddaughters, Samantha and Hailey Spence; extended family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Kernohan.
