Virginia M. Passamani

Mrs. Virginia M. Passamani, age 86 of (Bates Township) Iron River, MI died Thursday, April 9, 2009 at Northstar Health System, Iron River. Born: March 19, 1923 in Iron River, MI The daughter of the late Arthur and Mary Johnson, attended the Iron River schools, graduating from Iron River High School in 1941. She married Rudolph Passamani on December 25, 1942 in Iron River and the couple were lifelong residents of the area. The couple celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1992. Rudolph preceded her in death on May 30, 2008. Virginia was employed as a secretary at West Iron County Schools. After their retirement, the couple traveled during the winter to visit their children. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Iron River, the Priscilla Circle, the Sewing Club of Bates, and was a 4-H Leader. Her first love was her grandchildren. She was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing, gardening, and her church activities. She was also preceded in death by three brothers; Earl, Oliver, and Harold Johnson, and one sister, Irene Johnson. Survived by four sons; Dr. Eugene (Patricia) Passamani of Washington D.C. Dr. Bruce Passamani of Monterey, CA Dr. John (Mary) Passamani of Prescott, AZ Dr. Peter (Arlene) Passamani of Grosse Pointe, MI Three daughters; Catherine (Ron) Goovert of Grand Blanc, MI Gina (Darren) Walton of San Rafael, CA Virginia (Greg) Donati of Iron River 13 grandchildren and four great grandchildren Numerous nieces and nephews Visitation: Tuesday, April 14, 2009 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River. Funeral Services: Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church, Iron River with Rev. Bonny Kinnunen to officiate. Interment: Bates Township Cemetery, Iron River.
