Vivian A. Leonoff

Vivian A. Leonoff, age 90, passed away on February 20, 2023, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility. Vivian was born August 14,1932 in Crystal Falls, MI, the daughter of the late Gunnard and Annie Nicholson. Vivian attended the Bates Township schools and graduated from the Iron River High School in 1950. Following graduation, she attended the Badger Business College in Green Bay, WI. On February 23, 1952, she married Ronald Leonoff at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Stambaugh. Ronald preceded her in death on January 26, 2006. They were married for 53 years. Vivian purchased and operated Scotts Smartwear and later added Jean’s Bridal Wear, selling her shop when Ronald got transferred to Wisconsin. On return she trained and became a CNA at the Iron River Nursing Home, retiring in 1997. Vivian was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Caspian. She was also a member of Rosary Sodality, Lady Elks, and 20th Century Women’s Club. She was on many boards and committees including the Housing Commission Board. She loved wintering in Arizona enjoying the sun and all the activities she got involved in while there. She cheered on her beloved Green Bay Packers no matter how the season was going. Vivian loved to talk and would with everyone she met. She enjoyed golf, bowling, and playing cards. Vivian is survived by her daughter, Shirlee Leonoff of Iron River; two sons, Ronald Jon (Patti) Leonoff and Donald Leonoff of Iron River; three grandchildren, Jamie (Michael Bertola) Leonoff of Racine, WI, Jason Leonoff of Iron River, and Kevin (Courtney) Leonoff of Gaastra; three great grandchildren, Taylor Leonoff, Kameron Leonoff and Kendra Leonoff; extended family and friends. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Caspian, MI with Fr. Daniel Fosu to offer the Mass of Christian Burial.
