Walter White, age 95 of Tipler, WI, after a courageous battle with cancer, went to be with the Lord on June 29, 2012 at his home, surrounded by family. Walter was born June 18, 1917 in Brazeau, Wisconsin, son of the late Gust and Emily (Cudnofskey) White. In his younger years, Walter worked with his dad Gust in their logging camp in the Gibbs City area. On May 28, 1946, Walter married the former Ella Martin. Walter continued to work with his dad. He was a logger for others, cutting, driving the logging truck and skidder. Walter worked for himself in the woods with his sons, Tommy, Kevin and Gary. Walter was a fun loving person. He enjoyed working on cars, small engines, building tractors, listening to polka music and wood carving. He is survived by his wife, Ella of 66 years; six children, Betty Townsend, Mary Lou Rea, Kevin and Tom White of Tipler, Gary (LeaAnn) White of Long Lake, WI, and Bonnie ""Jeannie"" (Jim) Fredricks of Crystal Falls, MI; grandchildren, Bill (Heather) Lamers, James (Kelly) Lamers, Brett Condon Lamers, Linda Jean (Mike) Maki, Renee (Mike) Andersen, Rebecca (Cory) Coogan, Jason (Jessica) Townsend, Susan (Troy) Anderson, Jennifer Olson (Travis), Walter Rea (Krista), Patrick Rea, Derrek (Tiffany) White, Alecia (Mike) Anderman, Thomas White (Megean); 26 great grandchildren; one great, great granddaughter, Lexis Anderson; niece, Ginger LaBine; nephew, Jerry White; numerous nieces, nephews and close family friend, Tom Tipler. Besides his parents, Walter was preceded in death by an infant brother; sisters, Grace, Laura, and Frances; daughter, Linda Schmitt; son-in-law, Pat Rea; grandson, Terry Olson; infant great grandson, Shade Johnson. . Visitation will be held Monday, July 2, 2012 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Maple Grove Church, Tipler with Pastor John Fish to officiate. Interment: Martin Cemetery, Tipler, WI Pallbearers will be Tom, Gary, and Kevin White and grandsons, James, Bill, and Brett Lamers, with honorary pallbearers Tom Tipler and Jerry White.
