William J. Gunderman

William James Gunderman, 86, of Phelps, Wis., passed away Friday, June 2, 2017 at Ministry Eagle River Memorial Hospital in Eagle River, Wis. William was born April 1, 1931 in Milwaukee, Wis., the son of the late Nicholas and Katherine (Binder) Gunderman. He graduated from St. John’s Cathedral High School in 1949 in Milwaukee. After retiring from Continental Can Company in Milwaukee, William moved from Port Washington, Wis. to Phelps, Wis.     He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Phelps. Over the years, he enjoyed being at Long Lake, traveling with family, playing cards, fishing, sports, calling bingo and spending holidays and anytime with family and friends.     He was preceded in death by his brothers, Rev. Richard Gunderman and Daniel Gunderman, sisters, Eunice Frohberg and Anne Gunderman.     He is survived by many nieces and nephews, and other family who called him Uncle Bill.  Visitation will be Saturday, July 29 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Phelps followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Port Washington, Wis. at a later date.
