William E. Ketchum

William (Willie) E. Ketchum, age 72, of Caspian, MI, passed away at home on Saturday, March 21, 2020 in Caspian, MI after a long battle with cancer. He was born on October 30, 1947 in Stambaugh, MI, the son of the late Clair and Celia (Meyer) Ketchum. He attended the Stambaugh Schools, graduating from Stambaugh High School. Willie then joined the US Air Force where he spent the next 5 years as an encryption specialist serving in Germany. Willie married Deb Vignali on June 25, 1977 and the couple made their home in Caspian where they spent 42 years together. He was employed at Oldenberg Group, retiring after 25 years. He was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Caspian. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and Bocce with friends. William is survived by his wife, Deb; siblings, Douglas Ketchum of Stambaugh MI, Robert Ketchum of Caspian MI, Susan Hall of Florida, and Barbara Bigari of Grand Rapids MI. He had a special bond with his nephew Chad Peruzzi and niece Heather Clark who were like his own children. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 5, 2020 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at 1:00 pm at St. Cecilia Catholic Church with Rev. Gregory Veneklase to offer the Mass of Christian Burial.
