William G Mathesius Sr. Feb 21, 2012 William G Mathesius, age 82, Iron River, MI died Tuesday, Feb 21, 2012 at his home in Iron River. Born: October 7, 1929 in Mendota, IL The son of late Ervin and Flora (Truckenbrod) Mathesius attended school in Mendota IL. William married Helen Fennewald on April 23, 1960 in Lockport, IL. He spent most of his working career at Wilmette Industries where he retired. He moved to Iron River, MI in 2003. The center of Bill 's life was his family. He enjoyed fishing, working in the yard, and building and flying his model airplanes. But most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Helen Mathesius and his son David Mathesius and three grandchildren. He is survived by his Son, William (Christine) Mathesius Jr. of Cary, IL. Four daughters; Patricia (Garth) Doerr of Brookfield, IL, Melvina (Kevin) Land of Madison AL, Barbara (Gary) Klyczek of Bloomington IN, Catherine Mathesius of Iron River. Brother, Ralph Mathesius of PawPaw IL. 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren Memorial Services will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, Feb 25, 2012 at the Plattville Lutheran Church, Minooka, IL with Rev. Bret Reedy to officiate.
