William Scheibe

William Scheibe, age 88, of Caspian, MI, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Aspirus Iron River Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 24, 1934, in Milwaukee, WI, the son of the late Herman and Louise (Paasow) Scheibe. He attended the Milwaukee Schools and after which he enlisted in the US Marine Corps. William married the former Jean Hanninen on June 10, 1974, in Crystal Falls, MI. The couple celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary in 2017. Jean preceded him in death on October 10, 2017. He was employed as a carpenter in residential construction. William enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and solving crossword puzzles. William is survived by his daughters, Tamara (Gerry) Maki of Caspian, MI, Lori (David) Michael of Iron River,MI and Candace (Dan) Jacklin of Iron River, MI, JoAnne Menghini of Iron River, MI, and Cheryl Cronkright of Kenosha, WI; son, Wayne (Laura) Cronkright of Iron River, MI; sisters, Betty and Nancy; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was also preceded in death by his sons, William and James Scheibe and Darrell Cronkright and brothers Robert and Whitey Scheibe. Private family services will be held at a later date.
