William Spanos Jr., age 74, of Iron River, MI passed into eternal life on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Aspirus Iron River Hospital. He was born on June 7, 1946 in Evergreen Park, IL, the son of the late William and Margaret (Kettle) Spanos. North Carolina, where he served in the United States Marine Corps as an aviation engineer mechanic. He was honorably discharged as a Sargent in 1968 and returned to Chicago. William married Kathleen McCormack on December 24, 1966 in Cook County, IL. They started their own business, and he became a master jeweler and a salesman at the Swap-O-Rama Flea Markets in Alsip, IL for the last 35 years. He was a hard-working person and had a special love for animals and rock-n-roll music. William is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Kathleen; son, William (Bexi) Spanos III of Iron River, MI; daughter, Dawn Marie (Mike) Carroll of Palos Hills, IL; brother, Michael Spanos; sister, Nancy Adochio; three grandchildren, Kenneth, Stephanie, and Andrew Spanos; one great granddaughter, Gianna Marie Spanos; extended family and friends. He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Leo Dimitri Spanos. In accordance with William’s wishes, cremation will be held. “He will be missed with all our hearts.”
