William “Bill” B. Stokoski, age 78, of Caspian, MI, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 25, 2020 at the Aspirus Iron River Hospital. He was born on October 1, 1941 in Detroit, MI, the son of the late Bernard and Rita (Ott) Stokoski. Bill attended the Detroit schools, graduating from Servite High School in 1959. He then earned an associate’s degree from Wayne State University. Bill served in the Michigan National Guard. Bill married Carol Archocosky on June 24, 1972 in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. The couple celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary in 2019. Carol preceded him in death on February 6, 2020. He was employed as a district manager for several petroleum companies. After retirement, he spent some time doing residential painting. Bill was a member of St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Caspian and the American Legion Reino Post #21. He enjoyed socializing, spending time at camp, and bowling. Bill is survived by his sons, John (Mindi) Stokoski of Iron River and Paul (Dana Melchiori) of Gaastra, MI; daughter, Sandy (Michael) Bowick of Deetsville, AL; brother-in-law, John (Chris) Archocosky of Crystal Falls, MI; sister-in-law, Janet (Jerry) Anderson of Caspian, MI; granddaughter, Lily Hawke; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Susan. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Interment will be in Stambaugh Cemetery.
