William L. Streu

William “Billy” L. Streu, age 61, of Long Lake, WI, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at U.P. Health System in Marquette, MI. He was born on February 20, 1961, in Stambaugh, MI, the son of Kenneth and Verlie (Smith) Streu. He attended the Florence, WI Schools, graduating with the class of 1980. Billy married Karen Nacius on August 28, 1993, at the Long Lake Bible Church. The couple celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary in 2022. He was the owner and operator of CTL Timber Harvesting, LLC where he enjoyed logging and operating heavy equipment and working with his sons in the woods. Billy was a member of the Long Lake Bible Church and the Great Lakes Timber Producers. He was also a founding member of the Long Lake Fire and Rescue and spent over 40 years on the Department and served as Fire Chief for several years. Billy enjoyed hunting and fishing and having morning breakfast and coffee with his friends at the “roundtable”. Billy is survived by his wife, Karen; sons, Justin (Ashley) Nacius of Newald, WI, Jeremy (Brittany) Streu of Long Lake, WI, and Jaden (Sarah Froland) Streu of Long Lake, WI; brother, Bernie (Jodi) Nowak of Philipsburg, MT; grandchildren, Charli and Easton Nacius, Avery and Brielle Streu, and Kadence Horton; extended family and friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Long Lake Bible Church. A Celebration of Life will follow at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Gary White to officiate. A Celebration of Life and procession to the Long Lake Cemetery will be held in the spring.
