Age 83 Gaastra, MI Passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at the Marquette General Hospital. Born March 26, 1928 in Gaastra, MI The son of the late John and Anna (Twardzik) Busakowski attended the Palatka, and Stambaugh Schools, graduating in 1946. He worked for the city of Gaastra, was a bartender at the Shamrock Club in Gaastra, worked on riverboats and on ore boats in the Great Lakes, and was employed by George Young, developing the recreation complex, for over 30 years. He served in the US Air Force from 1946 to 1949 as an aircraft mechanic. Zigmund was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Caspian and the American Legion Post #17. He enjoyed fishing, especially ice fishing, bowling, crossword puzzles, working on the computer, and he had a great sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his brother, Chester Busakowski and his sister, Elizabeth Dzarnowski. He is survived by his brother, Andrew (Lillian) Busakowski of Gaastra, MI Arthur Busakowski of Calumet City, IL Sister, Clara Goeman of Fountain, CO Josephine Luska of Kenosha, WI Sister-in-law, Carol Busakowski of Caspian, MI Numerous nieces, nephews, and friends Visitation: Monday, February 20, 2012 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River. Funeral Service: Monday, February 20, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Caspian with Rev. Gregory Veneklase to offer the Mass of Christian Burial.
