Paul Jacobs

Owner/Manager

Paul became the owner and manager of Jacobs Funeral Home, Inc. of Iron River on June 1, 2011. He graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth in 2006 with a degree of Bachelor of Business Administration and a minor in Psychology. He is a 2007 graduate of Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Wheeling, IL with an Associates Degree in Mortuary Science. He holds the National Board Certification and is a licensed Funeral Director in Michigan and Wisconsin. He was the recipient of the Joan D. Tomczak Memorial Scholarship for his outstanding professionalism. Paul and his wife Megan are members of St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River. He is a member of the Michigan Funeral Directors Association and Wisconsin Funeral Directors Association.

Michael E. Jacobs

In Memoriam 1944-2025

Michael was the owner and funeral director of Jacobs Funeral Home, Inc. of Iron River. He received his degree in 1967 from the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science in Dallas, Texas. Michael was active in funeral service in Kansas, Colorado, and Missouri before he and his wife Toni purchased the Duvall Funeral Home in Iron River in 1978.

They operated the funeral home for the next 33 years as the Duvall-Jacobs Funeral Home and then as Jacobs Funeral Home Inc. of Iron River. Their son Paul joined them in business in 2007, and Michael retired on June 1, 2011.

Toni J. Jacobs

Retired

Toni was a licensed Insurance Agent (Limited Life) and assisted with preplanning of funeral services. While retired, Toni lends an occasional hand when needed. A graduate of Mercy School of Nursing, she worked as a Registered Nurse 10 plus years prior to moving to Iron River in 1978. She is a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River, St. Agnes Altar Society, Rosary Sodality, American Nurses Association, and Michigan Nurses Association.

Michelle Blood

Secretary/Receptionist

Michelle is secretary/receptionist at the funeral home and assists with visitations and funeral services. She joined the funeral home staff in 2011, a year after receiving a BA in History. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, and working on genealogy research.

David Carlson

Assistant

David assists with visitations, funerals, driving, and is the all-around handy man. He and his wife Donnalee are lifelong residents of the area. He joined the funeral home in 2016 after his retirement from the State of Michigan.
